Donald R. Cooley, Senior Project Manager/Gulf Coast Region
Industrial Hygiene Manager, retired from the Mississippi
Department of Environmental Quality after 28 years of creditable
service. His service included over 17 years of conducting
training for wastewater treatment facility operators, during
which time he was contributing author for the Mississippi
Wastewater Facilities Operations/Training Manual used by
the State for certification of wastewater personnel. The
last 10 years of service at MDEQ were spent as Supervisor
of the Asbestos Compliance Section. For over 2 ½ years
he has been a Contract Instructor for the Mississippi State
University Continuing Education Environmental Program. His
experience includes asbestos regulation enforcement, penalty
settlements, consultant for Asbestos NESHAP, AHERA, & OSHA
regulations, asbestos surveys, AHERA inspections, asbestos
air sampling, analysis, and clearance, QA/QC of asbestos
and lead paint abatement projects, and disaster emergency
response surveys. He is certified by the State of Mississippi
an as Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Abatement Supervisor,
Air Monitor, Lead-Based Paint Inspector, Lead-Based Paint
Risk Assessor, Certified 40 Hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Material
Response) and Mold Assessment and Remediation in Buildings
Accredited Trained.
